Our origin and the problem we kept encountering
The agency grew out of repeated exposure to the same broken pattern. A business would invest a significant sum in a redesign, launch to internal applause, and then watch nothing change commercially. Six months later they would blame the agency, hire another one, and repeat the cycle at greater expense. The underlying cause was almost never incompetence. It was that nobody had connected the design work to a measurable commercial objective, and nobody owned the result after launch.
We built Nortdesigns around fixing that specific failure. Every engagement defines the commercial outcome first, instruments it before launch, and assigns an owner for the period after. It sounds obvious. It is remarkably rare.
Over two decades of combined experience across hundreds of engagements, that discipline has proven more predictive of success than budget, industry or team size. It has also made us comfortable turning down work where the conditions for success are absent, which has been better for our clients and better for us.
